UPDATE 6/9/09 I took Parker to the vet last week Monday and they did more x-rays. Nothing had changed compared to the x-rays they did the first time so our vet is going to consult a specialist for Parker's continued treatment. The specialist was at a conference last week and we are still waiting to hear what we are going to do next. Hopefully- we will get some news soon. On a good note- he gained 2 pounds and is almost 11 pounds and is playing and acting normal.
UPDATE**** 5/29/09 Parker is palying and growing bigger by the day- but his breathing problems continue. The antibiotics don't seem to have helped him- so we are going back to the vet on Monday 6/1 for a follow-up and to see what we should do next. We appreciate the HUGE interest in Parker and are so glad so many people want to give him a home, but we cannot adopt him out until he is healthy- however long that takes. We cannot update all the people that have inquired individually- so if you are interested in Parker, please continue to watch his page as we will keep updating on his progress! THANK YOU!!
**********UPDATE 5/21/09 Parker went to the vet- we had x-rays done and his heart is fine. He does have fluid in his lungs so we are treating him for pnemonia- he goes back to the vet in 2 weeks for a recheck, hopefully the anibiotics take care of his breathing problems. If not- then the vet is concerned it could be scar tissue from a past infections that was not treated, but we are hopefully that pnemonia is the problem. He is also being treated for 5 days with panacur in case it is a lung parasite. He seems to be inproving daily and loves to be in the yard playing with the other puppies, he adores children as well and follows them around.
He will NOT be ready for adoption until the vet rechecks him and his lungs are clear and is able to be vaccinated and neutered- if the antibiotics take care of his infections, we anticipate him being ready to go to his home the midddle to end of June. We will not be accepting applications for Parker until he is rechecked by the vet- any applications received before that time will be DELETED!************
