We don't rescue by breed, we rescue by need.

In Loving Memory of all our Rescued Seniors

We love senior dogs, and firmly believe that they should never be in shelters during their golden years. We take these animals in, address their needs and medical issues, and provide for them for the rest of their lives. This is stressful and sometimes heartbreaking work, but at the same time it brings us a lot of joy and happiness.

These sweet pups were all rescued by NLOL and part of our Senior Sanctuary Program.

Walter (Walt)

Walt was a Dalmatian who came to us after being dumped at a rural shelter in NE Ohio. He had a lot of medical issues, but with TLC he was happy and comfortable, and greatly enjoyed the time he had with us. We absolutely adored Walt... he brought us more joy and laughter than we ever could have imagined. He was our inspiration to start our Senior Sanctuary Program.

"They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.

I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again."

 Daisy

Daisy was a Pomeranian mix who came to us after her elderly dad passed away. She was 13 years old and needed a lot of TLC. We picked her up in June of 2012, and she was with us until July of 2013. She had severe medical issues and required a lot of care, but we loved every minute she was with us.
