Marlow came to us from an Amish breeder who no longer wanted her because she was "over the hill" and not of any use to their breeding program anymore. This sweet girl spent her whole life in a barn making money for her people, and when she got older, faced euthanasia because she was deemed to not be profitable. How absolutely awful. Thankfully, we were made aware of the situation and were able to step in and save Marlow from her uncertain fate!
Marlow is your typical gentle giant! Due to her past, she is a little nervous of new people and situations at first, but once she's comfortable, she's a loving, sweet, silly girl! She's wonderful with other dogs and is learning to be playful and goofy with her current foster siblings. She basically ignores cats.
She is still figuring out what being a house dog and pet is like, and every day she makes little improvements! She's mastered steps, walks well on leash, does great in the car, and has even started to pick up toys, and will chew on them and throw them up in the air! We know she'll continue to blossom in the right forever home!
Due to her breed, Marlow will need a family that's dedicated to keeping up with her high maintenance grooming needs. Regular brushing and bathing are a must to keep her clean and free of painful knots or mats. Shedding and some drool also come along with the Newfie lifestyle!
Marlow is crate trained and house trained. She would do best in a lower key home as children under the age of 8 might be a little too much for her. She does great with other dogs of all sizes and energy levels. She's a mellow girl and doesn't interact with them much, but enjoys being in their company!
Marlow is approx 7 years old, is 101 lbs, and will be spayed and have a dental done prior to finalizing her adoption. She is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and is microchipped.
Her adoption fee is $450.
