Max is an  11  year old chow-retriever mix who is in need of a new home. He has only had one owner his whole life, but his family currently is very busy with things in their lives and Max has developed seperation anxiety. Although this situation can be difficult, it is almost common in older dogs, and CAN BE WORKED ON WITH A TRAINER  SUCCESSFULLY !

For this reason, however, although they love him, his family must give him up - they don’t have the time right now to work on training with him - they also have a 1 ½ year old who keeps them quite busy. They can’t take time off even to stay home with him for part of the day so he is outside during the days and it’s just a bad situation.

Max is neutered, and in (fairly) good health, though he has some arthritis in his back legs, and he has been taken to the vet regularly. He is a very good boy with his family, knows some obedience cues, is generally happy and even still plays with some toys  at times. He is friendly with the family’s cats and very gentle with their child. And it is true that parting with them will not be very easy for him, but even old dogs deserve a second chance at life, and that is what he needs. With a REALLY SPECIAL PERSON, or PEOPLE, who A) is at home a good part of the day and B) who truly loves dogs and is understanding/willing to help Max deal with his separation anxiety.

Please contact Nina at nrsol1223@lycos.com if you are interested in Max.
