UPDATE 11/12 -- Rocky was seen by an orthopedic specialist after his knee swelled up a little and was unresponsive to the medication our regular vet prescribed. We were a little surprised by his diagnosis - immune mediated arthritis. Thankfully, he is responding VERY well to the Prednisone the specialist started him on! This is great news, as it means Rocky's quality of life and long term prognosis are both excellent! He will need to take low doses of steroids every other day for the rest of his life, but the medication is very cheap and he takes it well with food.  =) Rocky has no restrictions and still runs and plays like the young man he is! He certainly has no idea that he has a medical issue!

Rocky is one of the 27 dogs seized on December 22nd, 2011 when a dog fighting / bait dog ring was raided in Cleveland. You can read about the story here, and see news coverage of the seizure here.

Thankfully, Rocky has no scars and doesn't appear to have been used in the ring at all! Rescue came just in time for our sweet boy!

Rocky is an absolutely AMAZING dog and despite his past, he is trusting, loving and sweet with people and has no issues with other animals! A true testiment to the incredible nature of the bully breeds!

Here's what Rocky's foster mom has to say about him: "Rocky is doing amazing! He's learning new things every day and is a happy, happy boy that loves to play with his toys! He is very smart, fully housetrained, knows basic commands and has graduated from obedience school! He can be vocal when he wants something (he sounds like he's yodeling! It's hilarious!), but generally doesn't bark.

He is good with cats and absolutely loves romping and wrestling with other dogs! A younger dog would probably be best in his forever home, as an older canine may not appreciate his playful energy! He is an incredibly loving and cuddly guy who thrives on attention and is oh-so enjoying his new "leash" on life!"

Rocky is approx. 1 year old, currently 55lbs. and is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative and on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. He has also been PROFESSIONALLY OBEDIENCE TRAINED and thrives on structure!  =)
