This pretty girl is Ava, a 1 year old female Pitbull terrier mix that came into rescue from a city shelter where she faced euthanasia. She is an absolute SWEETHEART of a dog, and is a wonderful representative of her breed. She loves every person she meets, and will wag her entire hind-end in order to express her great joy in meeting you! She has made fast friends with all of her foster families’ dogs, both larger and smaller than her, and thoroughly enjoys playtime! Despite the negative reputation of her breed, Ava is completely trustworthy with small animals, and has shown absolutely no aggression with cats - quite the opposite actually! Much to their irritation, she wants to play, and will invite them with play-bows and the occasional good-natured chase!

She is very low-key in the house, and will quietly play with the other dogs or chew her rawhide. She hasn’t displayed any food or toy aggression, and her foster mom can reach right into her food bowl or mouth to take something away. She is also a huge cuddle-bug, and greatly enjoys snuggling! She rides well in the car, and enjoys walks, although she hasn’t perfected her leash manners, and will PULL!

Ava is spayed, current on vaccines, de-wormed, microchipped and on flea and heartworm preventative. (She does have flea related allergies, so it’s very important that she remains current on preventative.) She is crate trained, and her foster family is working on housetraining and basic obedience.

A fenced in yard is preferred, and an EXCELLENT vet check is required. We are looking for a loving and responsible family for Ava so that she can continue to be an outstanding example of her breed, and help to negate the negative stereotype often associated with Pitbull terriers.

Ava’s adoption fee is $175. Please ensure that Pitbull type breeds are not banned in your city prior to submitting your application. We will be picky, so please, serious inquiries ONLY.
