1/28/11 UPDATE - Lily had her hip surgery today, which went very well, and she is now resting comfortably in her foster home! We expect that she will spend another 3 to 4 weeks recovering from the procedure. Check back frequently for more updates! 

1/6/11 UPDATE - Per our vet's recommendation, Lily will be on cage rest for the next three weeks to allow the small fracture in her pelvis to heal, and will then go in to have surgery to repair her luxated hip. Check back in a few weeks for more updates! 

Lily was hit by a car on 1/4/11 and surrendered to us because her previous owners could not afford her veterinary care and were going to have to euthanize her. We just couldn't let that happen to Lily, so we stepped in to save her!

Lily is incredibly lucky! For as little as she is, she sustained minimal injuries after her accident. She does have a hairline fracture in her pelvis and a luxated left hip which will require cage rest and surgery to correct, but both injuries are 100% treatable and she is expected to make a full recovery! She is the sweetest, happiest, most loving little dog, and we're SO very happy that we could save her! Her little kisses are worth more to us than gold, and are the reason we do rescue work!  =)
